Nightscape Photography

What is a “Nightscape”? It is both an exciting and remarkably peaceful genre of landscape photography captured under the stars. Christine will share with you what gear you will need, and powerful tips and techniques to capture photographic art that you can make in the dark. From capturing the Milky Way, to learning how to naturally and artificially light foreground elements, you will discover that creating beautiful nocturnal images is within your grasp.

  • You will learn an overview of nightscape photography, how to capture quality images, camera settings, tips & techniques, and indispensable smart phone apps.

  • Hands-on work will include downloading and working with the PhotoPills app., and setting up your camera for long exposure photography.

  • Bring to class your smart phone, and a DSLR or mirrorless camera (please bring your camera manual, if you already shoot nightscape photography, please bring your best images to share with the class and for constructive critique.



Christine is an award winning adventure photographer based in Utah. She was selected by Nikon as one of 100 rising stars in photography. She was named by Business Insider as one of the top 20 Instagram accounts to follow in the world. She is also a conference presenter, writer, and workshop leader.
