Social Media Best Practices for Photographers

With Pei Ketron

The power and reach of social media these days is undeniable. How well companies do on social media can make or break their businesses. Knowing where to start and what to focus on can be a daunting challenge for even the most tech-savvy photographers, especially given the overwhelming amount of social networks out there.

In this class, we’ll go over the major social networks you should be aware of - what they are, as well as how and why you might want to use them to grow your photography business. We’ll talk about the importance of a social media voice and brainstorm strategies to maximize engagement and growth on different networks.

Given the topic and how mysterious it can be, there will also be ample time for more specific discussion and questions.

  • You will learn social media best practices, strategies for growth, and how to use different social media networks to benefit your career as a photographer.
  • Hands-on work will include time spent on computers/smartphones either creating or looking at your own social media accounts so that you can start making changes and asking questions while in class.
  • Bring to class your laptop and smartphone with existing social media accounts and passwords at hand to do the hands-on portion of the class.
